Watchmen:Comedian-Laugh to Human Instinct

The last character of Watchmen that I would review is the Comedian. Comedian is the superhero that should be Villian! Why? If you saw Watchmen the movie and saw his behaviors including try to Rape Spectre I, try to Shot/Burn anti-superhero group of people and Kill pregnant girl!, you must not thinking of him as superhero anymore. However, he still has some superhero side.
After I saw the whole movie, I think that the Comedian is the patriot soldier because he always do the jobs for the US government without question. But, at the same time, he always do something bad without repentance. The movie told us that the Comedian is the one who know the True Face of Human Society and Human Instinct. That may be why his poster has the quote "We're Society's Only Protection". He may believe that the one who can protect society must be the one who know all about the real face of human being.
I think the movie try to told us that the Comedian believe about the raw, violence and spoil instinct of all human being, and that should be the reason why he always do bad violent actions...He just want to beat the violent mind with fear or More violence! And, He may release his raw instinct actions because of this belief too.

Watchmen:Silk Spectre II- a Lonely Girl

In my opinion, Silk Spectre II is the only one who really far away to be a superhero. She is just a normal woman who need Love and Attention. She has a bad background on her mother's couple life (Silk Spectre I), and, I think that is why she needs someone who really care her.
In Watchmen the movie, I think Spectre is the symbol of Love. She gives an inspiration to Night Owl, and give a Miracle to Dr.Manhattan! I can't tell you what is that Miracle...Please find it in the movie by yourself.

Watchmen:Night Owl II-Old Batman?

The first time I saw Night Owl poster, I think Hey! This is the new Batman the movie...but It's not Bat-man..It's Owl-Man. Anyway, in Watchmen the movie, Night Owl II (I don't know about Night Owl I) is really look like Batman. He is the superhero that have a lot of Hi-tech equipments/gadgets for crime fighting. The different between Batman and Night Owl is that Night Owl build all the Hi-tech gadgets by himself! Is he a Genius?
In Watchmen the movie, Night Owl is a retired superhero that have a normal live. I think he stop his superhero job because the number of people who hate masked superhero action is rising, and Nickson's government announces anti-superhero laws. However, he still thought back about his old superhero life.
I think Night Owl represent indecisive people who always confuse about Do something you love (or as your Dream) that may give you some problems/obstacles and Do as the normal way that may give you the simple life. This is quite a normal problem for almost people in this world! Many media (ads, books, movies) always told us to Go for the Dream, but, for me, I think the key is just "Do the thing you choose, and Not cry for your choice". You may have a normal life, but please not cry for your old dream. Or, you may fighting for your dream, but please not cry for normal life when you ate tired or fail!

Watchmen:Rorschach-The Mad Detective?

Main character that driving the main story of Watchmen is Rorschach, the hard-man style superhero. He is the only one in Watchmen team that question about the death of Comedian (one of the Watchmen). He try to inspect for the real cause of Comedian's death and persuade other Watchmen member to beware about the suspicious danger coming to the team.
As his quote "This City is Afraid of Me. I've seen its True Face.", Rorschach always present himself as a terror for everybody who have something bad in mind.He always try to show the True Face (mind) of everybody, but hide his own under the strange changeable-pattern Mask! I think the pattern on his mask is always showing his feeling/mind. The scene that Rorschach talking with psychiatrist is showing that he has some bad background making him to be a hard man with complicated mind and thought.
I think Rorschach is the character that represent many people who try to know (and sometimes they think they've already known) the others mind but hide their own. This type of people try to know the true mind of the others, but sometimes (or all the time) confuse with their own mind and try to hide it because some weakness in their mind/background. I believe that you may face up with this type of people many time in your entire life or you may be that Type! Are you Rorschach?

Watchmen:Ozymandias-The Smartest Hero?

Ozymandias is called "The Smartest Man in the World" by his Watchmen colleague. In Watchmen the movie, he is introduced as a good-looking guy with neat suit and have tactful and deliberate behavior. He stop his superhero job to begin his business empire that working on the free-unlimited power/fuel research for everybody in the entire earth! The main assumption for this research is that "If everybody can have free-unlimited fuel, the world will be at Peace"!!. What do you think about this assumption?

If we try to think that the period of the movie is the time of Economic and Nuclear-War tension between USA and Russia, it may be possible that we can stop the Resource hunting war by the free-unlimited fuel. However, I think that this is not a good enough idea to show the cleverness of Ozymandias. Anyway, if you have seen Watchmen the movie, you must know that this is NOT the Real objective of Ozymandias! This research is just a part of his Big Plan for World Peace! You will know the real meaning of his quote "A World at Peace. There had to be Sacrifice", and you will wonder/surprise with his thought. Moreover, you will ask your self again and again that "Does he do the right thing?".

Watchmen:Dr.Manhattan-Life is Overrated?

As I promise that I will review about each main character of Watchmen the movie, Let's start with the best one! The most attractive character in Watchmen (for me) is Dr.Manhattan. The blue-radical guy who have a god-like power and brain.
As shown in the poster picture, One of Dr.Manhattan special quote is "The Existence of Life is a Highly Overrated Phenomenon"! What do you think about this quote? For me, it's True for someone...Someone (Almost people) who thinking that his/her life is permanent (I will not die soon, I can still alive for a long time) and important than the others (just like I'm the center of the world or Everybody must not break my rule/privacy/life). Are you that Someone?
Many people always living without careful. They always think that they must not die soon or have many more years for life. But, actually, Everyone can die in anytime and any circumstance ..may be die on the next breath or the next second! And Many people always think that their life is important->No one can destroy their life (by killing or make them feel suffering). But, it's obviously Not True! That why I think many people overrated the Life! In fact, everybody must born, get older, have some suffering and die. In the scientific point of view, Life form is just the group of element (may be with some unknown:Soul) and To die is the collapse of that group of element. Every element (everything) can be deterioration, thus the Life will be end in someday. Please living carefully and Not Overrated your Life!

Movie: Dragonball Evolution-Not good enough

Today, my friend invite me to see the movie Dragonball Evolution. I'm not sure to see the western movie making from Japanese comic/manga, because many (or may be all) of them are bad. However, this is the new and promoted program for this week (sounds so sad,right? T^T), thus I give it a try!
After the end of Dragonball Evolution, I feel that my first though is correct! The movie is short and not fun. Relationship of each character and the story are really loose: How can Picolo escape from the magic trap? Oh sorry, the movie not tell you. Many characters are just appeared to show that they has name as in Dragonball comics. Anyway, if you just want to see new style of Dragonball as the movie, it should be ok for you.


Pros

• Action in Cartoon style is OK (Great for Kids).
• Quite Ok style to re-edit Dragonball to be the movie.

Cons

• Story is too short and too loose.
• Many Characters are uninteresting and not important.
• If you love Dragonball the Comics and hope to see it on the movie, NOT this movie.

I recommend you to see Dragonball in the cartoon version. It's really great cartoon and may be one of the most worldwide famous Japanese cartoon of all times. Believe me that it's a lot better the Movie!

Movie: Watchmen- Super Hero & Philosophy

I've seen Watchmen since a couple of weeks ago, and I really appreciate with this movie! I've known that Watchmen is not a Sci-Fi Action Super Hero movie before I went to the theater (I read from a short brief in movie's ads.), but I've never think before that there's a Super Hero movie that tell you about Life philosophy!

Every scenes of Watchmen are really beautiful, impressive and implied something ...even on the Intro scene. The main theme is detective style: Who killed Comedian? and Why? The main character that push the story forward is Rorschach, one of watchmen who have hard-direct/frank style with something in mind. However, the best attractive character is Dr.Manhattan. How can you ignore the blue-radical guy who have power and philosophy like a God! Actually, I think every characters in Watchmen the movie are interesting...I will try to write about each character in the future (soon)!


Pros

• Great Pictures. All scenes are beautiful.
• The detective theme is interesting and attractive. Not too easy to predict who is the villian(but not too hard).
• You can get a lot of Life philosophy from the movie.
• The end of the movie is great (for me).

Cons

• Not much Action scene
• Quite a long movie (~3hours)
• If you want to see Action Super Hero and not love to think about the philosophy conversation, This movie is NOT for you!

Games-Sid Meier's Civilization IV

If you're the one who love the Turn-based Strategy game, the name of Sid Meier will not make you disappoint! For me, the name of Sid Meier is like beautiful gems. When I know that Sid Meier launching any new games, I will try to get it as soon as possible, and, of course, I've never disappointed with this name!

The most famous games of Sid Meier is Civilization series. I've played Civilization I since MS-DOS & Windows 3.1 era. And, now, it's time of Sid Meier's Civilization IV! The game is still based on the old main concept: you're the leader of one civilization (tribe) and you must expand your territory, research for new technology (from Fishing to Spaceship building!), build up your army (you may need archers or you may need some Modern Tanks!) to be No.1 Civilization of the World!

You can win the games in many style: Conquer(Destroy) All Civilizations, Be the 1st one who can launch the spaceship to find new colony, Be selected to be Leader from All Civilizations and more! You can choose to play the normal games or special scenarios. You can play single or multi-player. I always have fun when I try to fight with Old Musketeers of other civilizations with my Modern Tank Armies!

If you feel not enough with civilizations and scenarios coming with the Games, you can get more from its Add-on: Warlords, Beyond The Sword and Colonization. Again, If you're the one who love the Turn-based Strategy game, I recommend that you must try Sid Meier's Civilization IV!

Games-Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI

To complete my love with Romance of the Three Kingdoms (RTK) Stuff.. The last thing that I would like to review for RTK is Games!! Although you've not heard about Romance of the Three Kingdoms before, you may have fun with this Games: Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI from Koei!

If you love Strategy games, especially the games based on History, you should to love many Games from Koei. The RTK Games series is one of the famous games of all time from Koei. The only one problem of RTK series is lacking of English translation, because, many games of Koei have only Japanese version. However, there are some people who working on the English patched for RTK (PC version).

The latest version of the RTK games is XI. This version is really different from RTK X, including graphics, strategy and game control. But, Both of them are really addictive for me. If you love RTK or love turn-based strategy game, I think you will love the RTK series!

Anyway, after I've played RTK XI PC-English Version for a while, I've found some bug!s The bugs are quite serious for me, because the game will be crashed and can't play on that point again even you try to restart! This is quite surprise because I didn't face up any bugs when I played RTK XI PC-Japanese Version (with English patched). However, I think there would be an official patched soon. This problem is for PC version only. If you have PlayStation2, you can enjoy with RTK XI without bugs.

Book: Romance of the Three Kingdoms

After my Last Post about Romance of the Three Kingdoms based Manga, Ravages of Time, I've decide to find some books to recommend for someone who interesting in the real-classic Romance of the Three Kingdoms (RTK) story that was written by Luo GuanZhong. And I can found some on Amazon.com.

I think there are are 2 interesting editions of RTK on Amazon.com. The first one is the well-known edition that was translated by C.H. Brewitt Taylor. This one is really old and classic. Many one uses this English-translated edition as a reference for some works/articles that based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms story.

Another interesting edition is the one that translated by Moss Roberts. After read some reviews about this edition, I've found that many people really love this edition with only one marked point: There are some important scene that was cut out in this edition. You can search for more for books and reviews about Romance of the Three Kingdoms at Amazon.com.

Special Note: Luo GuanZhong's Romance of the Three Kingdoms is Fiction/Novel that based on the Real China History on the Falling period of Han Dynasty (206 B.C.-A.D. 220). Thus, you may found that some parts of the story would be different from the real history
